Racing For Holland

The Dutch Dakar team Racing for Holland is busily preparing for the world's toughest rally: Dakar 2013. On 5 January 2013, Jan Lammers will be getting behind the wheel of his sturdy Ginaf X2222 for the fourth time and will be aiming to put in another good performance in the Dakar 2013.

He is hoping to finish the race without incident again this year.

The greatest adventure in the world of motor sport will get under way in Lima, the capital of Peru, on 5 January. The impressive convoy vehicles will then make their way through the mountains of Peru, the desert and mountain passes of Argentina, before taking the coastal route and heading for the finish line in Chile. The race once again promises to be extremely tough and demanding on both the trucks and team members, who are busy preparing themselves for the biggest challenge they have faced to date. Over the course of more than 8,000 kilometres, the two-week rally will test the drivers' vehicles - and resolve - to the limit.

Jan Lammers only decided to enter this year's Dakar rally at a very late stage (Thursday 1 November 2012). This could be considered madness, but the Dakar unleashes a determination in people like no other race can. There is not much time left, but with Jan Lammers' race experience and the many years of servicing experience of the GINAF Service Team it can be done.

Jan Lammers is yet to start looking for a navigator for the 2013 Dakar, but even that is not unique: Iginio Voorhorst's VB-RallyRacing team also only found a navigator a couple of weeks before the start of the 2009 race.
VB-Airsuspension has also taken on the task of working on the air suspension of Jan Lammers' sturdy Ginaf X2222 at the last minute. This race truck has now also been fitted with the latest control system and more or less all the parts used by the other teams.
